All entry level candidates will be placed in one of the following trades based on business needs at time of hire:

*Outside Machinist*

• Works on the submarine doing assembly and shipboard mechanical work that takes place in the shipyard.

*Pipefitter*

• Installs, assembles, fabricates, maintains, and repairs mechanical piping systems that carry liquids and gases under varying pressures

*Outside Electrician*

• Responsible for the electrical wiring of the machines and related equipment supporting many miles of cable in the submarines

*Painter and Sound Dampener

• Preserves the hull and components by sealing the submarines with chemicals and paints to prevent corrosion and protect against the accumulation of marine life
• Laying out & shooting studs, gluing & installing tiles & anti-sweat hardboard

*Shipfitter*

• Responsible for laying out, fabricating and installing metal structural parts, such as plates, bulkheads, frames, foundations, etc. Align and tracks welds structural parts

*Welder*

• Responsible for fusing materials together with a wide range of welding processes

*Sheetmetal*

• Responsible for laying out, fabrication, assembly, and installation of all light gage metalwork which includes air-conditioned ductwork, lockers, cabinets, prefabricated bulkheads, doors and furniture

These are hourly positions located at the Quonset Point facility in North Kingstown, RI

Responsibilities

• Ability to work successfully in a production/construction environment
• Applicant will be required to work in a collaborative and team environment
• Ability to communicate effectively with supervision and peers

Qualifications

Required:

• Must be a high school senior and graduating by August of 2025
• Must be a US Citizen
• Available to train and work on any shift
• Ability to work at heights, confined spaces and in extreme weather conditions as required
• Possess your own basic hand tools

Preferred:

• Vocational HS
