We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for an Accounting Assistant in Carlstadt, New Jersey. This role operates within the industry and involves working closely with financial data, primarily focusing on tasks such as processing payments and reconciling credit card statements.

Responsibilities:

• Handle the entry of payments into systems such as QuickBooks
• Manage the entry of bills as part of the financial process
• Oversee and process timesheets for payroll purposes
• Conduct minor credit card reconciliations to ensure accurate financial records
• Utilize skills in Microsoft Excel and GAAP Accounting to enhance efficiency and accuracy of work
• Monitor and take appropriate actions on customer accounts
• Resolve customer inquiries related to their accounts
• Train and guide junior team members to ensure consistency and accuracy in work.
• Maintain accurate customer credit records for reference and future transactions.• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential
• Familiarity with GAAP Accounting principles and practices
• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
• Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles
• Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proactive approach to work, demonstrating initiative and responsibility.
