Job Description

A specialized teaching position is available for an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher to serve K-12 students in Minneapolis, MN. This role involves designing and implementing physical education programs tailored to meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities or physical challenges, promoting inclusion and physical wellness across all grade levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver individualized adaptive physical education lessons aligned with state standards
  • Assess student abilities and adapt activities to accommodate special needs
  • Collaborate with general PE teachers, therapists, and support staff to maximize student participation
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
  • Promote a positive and inclusive environment encouraging physical activity for all students
  • Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid teaching certification with a specialization in Adaptive Physical Education or related field
  • Experience working with K-12 students requiring adaptive physical education support
  • Strong knowledge of physical disabilities and effective instructional techniques
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to create engaging and safe physical activities suited for diverse abilities

Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota

Contract Details: This is a contract position for the upcoming school year (NSY).
