Job Description

A K-12 school in Burbank, CA is seeking an experienced Adaptive Physical Education Teacher to provide specialized physical education support for students with diverse learning needs. This full-semester contract position is ideal for professionals passionate about creating inclusive, adaptive PE programs that promote physical development and well-being for all students.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement individualized adapted physical education programs tailored to students abilities and requirements
• Assess students physical capabilities, monitor progress, and adjust activities accordingly
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and families to support student success
• Ensure a safe, supportive environment that encourages participation and inclusivity
• Maintain accurate documentation and provide regular updates on student progress
• Stay informed on best practices and emerging techniques in adaptive physical education

Qualifications:

• Valid teaching credential or certification in Physical Education with specialization in adapted physical education
• Experience working with K-12 students requiring adapted physical education support
• Strong understanding of physical disabilities, developmental delays, and behavior challenges
• Ability to develop creative lesson plans that engage and motivate diverse learners
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
