Job Summary


Under minimal supervision, responsible for planning, organizing, directing and controlling all spects of the assigned department's budget activities. Manages strategic projects for the assigned department. Responsible for general office management and oversight of staff and administrative functions.

Responsibilities


With minimal supervision, responsible for management, oversight, and reporting of departmental purchasing and budget activities. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Preparing and submitting annual departmental budget and variance reports to the University of Utah Health Finance Department.
  • Preparing and reporting monthly summary of expenses, variance, and forecasting to the department chief.
  • Contributing to financial decisions for the department.
  • Preparing and tracking journal entries.
  • Overseeing department purchasing activities.
  • Responsible for the coordination and completion of Compliance Services strategic projects. This includes, but is not limited to:
  • Oversees all aspects of projects. Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, organizes project information, and monitors and summarizes progress of project.
Responsible for general office management activities. This includes, but is not limited to:
  • Supervision of administrative staff.
  • Management of office space, including oversight of repairs, cleaning, and maintenance.
  • Payroll reporting.
  • Liaison between department staff and HR.
  • Liaison between department staff and building management.

Broad knowledge of the field with demonstrated leadership skills.

Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 6 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 4 years of directly related work experience.

This is a Manager-Level position in the Management track.

Minimum Qualifications

EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).

Manager, Administrative / Office Services Management: Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 6 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 4 years of directly related work experience.

Senior Manager, Administrative / Office Services Management: Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 8 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 6 years of directly related work experience.

Preferences
• Demonstrated experience with budget management and budget preparation.
• Demonstrated experience in project management; willingness to obtain certification within six months of hire.
