Analyst-Commercial (Southern Natural Gas) Account Services Analyst responsible for performing a variety of customer‑related activities for the South Region Pipelines including preparing and evaluating monthly invoices in compliance with tariffs and SOx controls, training internal and external customers about services offered, responding to invoicing inquiries, reviewing and reporting account receivables, supporting revenue and allocation processes within the proprietary transportation system (DART), and ensuring compliance with internal SOx controls. Ensure customer invoices are processed accurately and timely in compliance with all South Region’s Pipeline tariffs. Provide timely responses to internal and external customer questions regarding invoicing. Train customers on transportation service details and use of pipeline proprietary transportation systems. Compile and report account receivable information. Support revenue and allocation processes within proprietary transportation system (DART). Document SOx controls, identify risks, implement mitigating controls, and evidence process compliance related to invoicing. Assist Commercial and Financial Planning teams in monitoring revenue and customer activities. Generate revenue reports and track performance throughout the year. Build strong relationships with Management, Marketing, Asset Optimization, Measurement, Rates, Regulatory Affairs, Transportation and Storage Services, Legal, Contract Services, Financial Planning, and Accounting. Collaborate with Financial Planning and Accounting groups on forecasting, revenue reporting, and variance explanations. Other duties as assigned. Position Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Marketing or related discipline. Strong initiative and ability to work through complex issues. Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Strong computer skills and ability to learn proprietary systems. Proficient in Microsoft Office, including pivot tables and advanced Excel functions. Detail oriented with ability to see the big picture. Resourceful, able to gather, synthesize and disseminate information. Capable of managing stressful situations with critical deadlines. Preferred Education, Experience, and Skill Requirements Understanding of Kinder Morgan, interstate pipeline commercial business, contract administration, scheduling, allocation, rates and invoicing. Knowledge of Kinder Morgan proprietary transportation systems (DART), rates and invoice processes. Knowledge of South Region interstate natural gas transportation. 3–5 years of interstate natural gas pipeline industry experience. Experience with MS SQL and/or MS Access for complex business solutions. Position level commensurate with experience. Working Conditions Office environment at South Region Pipeline Group Headquarters in Birmingham, AL. Occasional overtime required, often with short notice. Light travel may be expected. Projects often have fixed and tight deadlines for multiple simultaneous initiatives.
