Description

As an Art Director at Milestone Church, you are a seasoned designer and dedicated team builder. Your rich experience allows you to have a strong eye for design, excellent communication skills, and a passion for contributing to meaningful projects. You thrive in leading other designers from practical workload management to creative feedback loops, helping them grow as designers. You will help deliver on key branding projects and deliverables that play an important role in supporting the vision of Milestone Church: Reaching People and Building Lives.

Creative Direction and Execution:
  • Create high-quality and visually engaging graphics and visuals for weekend service experiences, social media content, campaigns, web design, and more.
  • Help execute design and layout concepts that are clear and concise.
  • Support ministries and campuses with creative requests including signage, branding, and events.
  • Understand marketing initiatives, strategic positioning, and our audiences.
Brand Adherence:
  • Ensure all design materials adhere to the established brand guidelines of Milestone Church, maintaining consistency and professionalism across all platforms and campuses.
  • Speak into the evolution of our brand guidelines as we grow.
Collaboration:
  • Work closely with the Communications team, other departments, and campuses to understand project requirements and effectively translate concepts into visually appealing designs.
  • Collaborate with other designers to assist in their skill development through projects.
Deadline Management:
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and deliver high-quality designs within established deadlines.
Professional Growth:
  • Continually study industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in graphic design to continuously enhance skills and stay relevant in the field.
Team Leadership
  • Manage and delegate responsibilities to other designers and provide direction.
  • Monitor project timelines and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Ensure that the team's work meets quality standards.
  • Implement quality assurance processes and procedures.
  • Build and maintain a high-performing team.
  • Participate in the recruitment and selection process for new team members.
  • Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires.
  • Set clear performance expectations and goals for team members.
  • Monitor and evaluate team performance regularly.
  • Provide constructive feedback and coaching to team members.

Qualifications

  • Vibrant and mature Christian faith.
  • Must possess a strong understanding of graphic design principles, methods, and practices, as well as all phases of production, layout, and design including pre-production preparation.
  • High-capacity individual comfortable multi-tasking independently without constant supervision.
  • Ability to work independently, monitor own work for quality, and stay focused in a busy environment
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Reliable and dependable in attendance.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, interacting with other departments to obtain information needed to complete tasks.
  • Full understanding and experience with Adobe Software Products including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, as well as other design software.
  • MAC experience and basic Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to deal with change, delays, and unexpected events. Education and Experience
  • 5+ years of experience creating and designing marketing materials in a related field.
  • A Bachelor's degree, certificate, or college coursework in a related field is a plus.
  • Strong portfolio illustrating a wide variety of design solutions and applications.
Physical Demands

The physical demands may include: sitting, walking, bending, stooping, twisting, and lifting up to 40 pounds as needed to fulfill job duties and requirements.
