Job Description

Level Recruiting is searching for an Assistant Project Manager to support high-end residential projects in the Bay Area.

As an Assistant Project Manager, you are dedicated to safety, quality, satisfied clients, your own growth and experience, and the growth of the company and team members around you. As Assistant Project Manager, you will support Project Managers in overseeing schedule, budget, and quality of projects while building critical project management experience.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Assisting in ensuring work is performed safely, in accordance with plans and specifications, and in compliance with local building codes and Cal-OSHA
  • Supporting schedule management, budget tracking, change order processing, and project hour monitoring under Project Manager guidance
  • Assisting in quality control inspections and documentation
  • Helping to adjust project schedules when necessary to reflect changes in scope or timeline
  • Preparing and distributing project updates to all involved parties in a timely manner
  • Tracking and monitoring bill payment schedules and vendor invoicing
  • Supporting communication between the Owner, Architect, Superintendent, and Office
  • Assisting the Project Manager in maintaining strong relationships with Owners and addressing questions or concerns
  • Coordinating permit applications, approvals, and inspection scheduling
  • Supporting the Project Manager and Superintendent with schedule coordination
  • Assisting in subcontractor qualification, management, and communication from RFP through project close out
  • Supporting subcontractor and vendor pricing analysis and negotiations
  • Reviewing and processing vendor and subcontractor billings for approval
  • Maintaining and organizing project documentation and filing systems
  • Assisting with project closeout processes and documentation
  • Gathering feedback from team members for consideration on future projects
  • Participating in company culture and growth
  • Learning and developing advanced project management skills through mentorship and hands-on experience

To be successful, you'll need :

  • 2-4 years of luxury construction industry experience, with 1+ years in project coordination or assistant project management role preferred
  • Basic skills with analyzing numbers and budgets, with eagerness to develop advanced financial management skills
  • Experience with technology: Windows, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project (or willingness to learn), Bluebeam Revu, and Procore
  • Growing knowledge of practices, methods, equipment, materials, and tools used in residential and commercial construction
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications
  • Strong communication, active listening, and team collaboration skills
  • Strong organizational skills and time management skills with attention to detail
  • Able to remain calm while working in a stressful environment
  • Eagerness to learn and grow into a full Project Manager role

The compensation range for this position is: $100,000 to $130,000 annually, DOE
