SUMMARY Promotes coffee consumption by educating our guests and staff. Prepares and serves coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques for coffee drinks such as; espresso, espresso lungo, caff latte, and cappuccino.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - Prepares and serves beverages, ranging from simple to elaborate
- Promotes and recommends menu options to guests
- Maintains inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply; stocking coffee brewing equipment, maintaining supplies, and cookies for coffee station
- Maintains equipment by cleaning, troubleshooting, and scheduling repairs
- Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations
- Evaluates and modifies processes to improve efficiency and quality of service
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading coffee, retail trade, and food service publications; maintains personal networks
QUALIFICATIONS Required - Prior caf or coffee shop experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be at least 17 years of age
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must be well-groomed and well-presented with no visible tattoos
- Must have reliable transportation
Desirable - Prior restaurant experience
- Guest interaction skills
- Organization
- Ability to speak French or Spanish
SKILLS - Ability to communicate in English both orally and in writing
- Strong interpersonal communication skills both verbal and written
- Must always be organized and maintain cleanliness of workstation
- Ability to speak using clear and professional language
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to cross-train across multiple departments and assist when needed
PHYSICAL DEMANDS - Must be able to lift 30+ lbs.
- Able to stand, bend and walk for long periods of time
- Frequent or occasional need to perform the following physical activities: reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting and climbing
