Job Title: Barista / Aide – PRN
Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused Barista / Aide (PRN) to join our team. This dual-role position is responsible for preparing and serving beverages, assisting with food service operations, maintaining cleanliness, and handling monetary transactions in a professional and accurate manner.
Set up Barista/Cashier station each morning and ensure readiness for service.
Prepare and serve coffee beverages (e.g., espresso, lattes, cappuccinos) according to standardized recipes.
Handle cash, credit/debit cards, and checks accurately.
Provide correct change and issue receipts, refunds, or credits as needed.
Balance cash drawer at the end of each shift.
Clean and sanitize the checkout/barista area and equipment.
Maintain inventory levels for coffee supplies, pastries, and condiments.
Uphold all food safety and sanitation standards.
Answer customer questions or refer them to a manager when needed.
Deliver excellent customer service and contribute to a positive café experience.
Read and interpret production orders and therapeutic menus.
Assist in meal tray assembly for patients, residents, and cafeteria patrons.
Prepare items for modified diets (e.g., pureed, soft, liquid).
Use portion control methods for dietary compliance.
Deliver trays and push meal carts to designated locations.
Wash dishes and maintain cleanliness in kitchen and dining areas.
Record temperatures and maintain logs in the dishwashing area.
Assist with food prep such as washing and peeling vegetables.
Collect and dispose of trash in designated receptacles.
Restock supplies and maintain overall organization of the department.
Prior experience in food service, customer service, or a café/barista role preferred.
Ability to operate a cash register and perform basic math functions.
Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to follow directions and work in a fast-paced environment.
Flexible schedule availability for PRN (as needed) shifts.
