Job Posting: Bookkeeper / Administrative Consultant (Hybrid, Part-Time)

Location: Solana Beach, San Diego, CA (Hybrid) - Candidates for this position must reside in the area. 
\n Hourly Rate: $40 – $45/hr
\n Schedule: 2–4 hours per week (Part-Time, Consulting Basis)

\n\n \nAbout the Role\n\n

Kelly Services is seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Administrative Consultant to support our client's financial operations and administrative needs on a consulting basis. This flexible, remote role is perfect for an experienced QuickBooks Online user who thrives in managing day-to-day accounting, HR coordination, and business administration for a small company.

In this role, you’ll work directly with the CEO and play an essential part in maintaining accurate books, supporting compliance, and keeping operations running smoothly.

\n\n \nKey Responsibilities\n\n

Accounting & Finance

\n\n
    \n\t
  • Maintain accurate accounting records in QuickBooks Online\n\t
  • Manage accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger entries\n\t
  • Reconcile bank accounts and monitor cash flow\n\t
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements and custom reports\n\t
  • Handle vendor and customer records, invoices, and payments\n\t
  • Coordinate with outside accountants, CPAs, and tax professionals\n\t
  • Support state and federal tax filings (including 1099s and CA business property tax returns)\n\t
  • Stay current on QuickBooks Online features and compliance changes\n\t
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements\n

HR & Payroll Support

  • Assist with employee onboarding, recordkeeping, and benefits tracking\n\t
  • Coordinate with payroll providers for timely, accurate processing\n\t
  • Maintain compliance with federal and state employment requirements\n
\n\n

Administrative Support

  • Provide general office and administrative assistance to the CEO\n\t
  • Respond to vendor and customer inquiries\n\t
  • Organize and maintain digital records and reports\n\t
  • Support other duties and projects as needed\n
\n\n \nQualifications\n\n
    \n\t
  • 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience (consulting experience is a plus)\n\t
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks Online (required)\n\t
  • Familiarity with HR and payroll processes\n\t
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through\n\t
  • Ability to work independently, handle confidential information, and meet deadlines\n\t
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills\n
