Job Description

Early Childhood Center Director: Clarkston, Michigan

The Director has overall responsibility for operation of the Center and ensures that the Center is operated in accordance with company and state licensing standards.  and operating procedures to provide an educational, caring, and safe environment for the children and parents; to promote the positive image of Heartfelt Impressions Learning Centers in the community; and to achieve solid financial standing for the company.  

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, child development, or related field of study. 

  • Minimum One year experience leading in age groups Infants- Pre-K

  • Minimum One year experience leading a team

  • Knowledge of state licensing rules and regulations. 

  • Experience with High Scope Curriculum

  • Familiar with Office 365, ProCare, Brightwheel, IKS is preferred but not required

Hours may vary within hours of operation 6:30am-6pm Monday through Friday
Salary starting at $60,000

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Influence, motivate and guide staff efforts. 
  • Maintain staff’s attention and gain their respect and confidence
  • Maintaining all customer service needs.
  • Provide excellent proactive communication with parents. Minimize parental concerns that reach the level of having to be addressed by Owners.  
  • Promote and Maintain Enrollment
  • Understand and implement consistently, all Family and Staff policies and procedures.
  • Tuition and billing accurate and completed on time
  • Audit charges and credits on accounts and cross reference with attendance on a monthly basis. 
  • Participate in Community events
  • Assisting classroom to ensure ratio is maintained
  • Good working relations with local businesses, suppliers and collaborators.
  • Plan and organize effective staff meetings.
  • Identify problems and act immediately to take action.
  • Maintain a calm and professional demeanor, language, and voice tone when dealing with difficult situations. 
  • Oversee staff weekly scheduling.
  • Maintain a competent understanding of the Michigan Quality Rating System and stay up to date on any changes.
  • Achieve and maintain a 5-star rating in the Quality Rating System.

  • Maintain knowledge of all regulations and requirements of the GSRP program, including but not limited to the GSRP implementation manual. 
  • Ensure that High Scope curriculum is being used with fidelity in all classrooms and seek support from appropriate personnel when needed.
