Job Description

Claims Adjuster

We are seeking an experienced Claims Adjuster to handle complex property and casualty insurance claims. In this key individual contributor role, you will take on complex claims while upholding quality, accuracy and timely processing standards.

Responsibilities:

Investigate and analyze complicated claims filed under commercial policies
Determine extent of insurance carrier's liability while identifying any potential fraud
Negotiate optimum settlements and authorize payments within designated limits
Document claim files with all actions, findings and settlement details
Possess extensive knowledge on policy contracts to provide policy interpretation
Maintain regular contact with insured to discuss claim processes and explain resolutions
Collaborate with underwriters regarding large losses and risk improvement recommendations
Identify suspicious claims and refer for specialized investigations as needed

Requirements:

5+ years handling complex commercial, personal injury, auto/property damage claims
Advanced knowledge of insurance claims best practices
Outstanding analytical thinking and attention to detail
Excellent negotiation and communication abilities
Confident decision making skills with proven judgement
Ability to work independently while managing a variety of claim assignments
Willingness to continue insurance designations (CPCU, AIC, etc.)
