CMM Programmer | Montague, MI

Salary Range: $56,000 - $88,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and validate CMM inspection programs using CAD models and engineering drawings.
• Interpret complex GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) requirements for measurement.
• Perform First Article Inspection (FAI), in-process, and final product inspections.
• Analyze measurement data, identify non-conformances, and generate detailed inspection reports.
• Troubleshoot CMM program errors and optimize inspection routines for efficiency and accuracy.
• Select, set up, and calibrate appropriate CMM probes, fixtures, and work holding devices.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve measurement challenges.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in CMM programming software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS).
• In-depth knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering blueprints and 3D CAD models.
• Experience with CMM operation, calibration, and maintenance procedures.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for measurement data and CMM programs.

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) for model manipulation and fixture design.
• Experience with multiple CMM software platforms beyond the primary (e.g., Polyworks, Calypso, MCOSMOS).
• Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and data analysis for quality improvement initiatives.
• Experience with other advanced metrology equipment such as laser scanners or vision systems.
