Overview

The Contracts Manager, under the direction of the Chief Finance and Administrative Officer, will oversee and manage the preparation, negotiation, execution, and administration of contracts and agreements related to clinical trials. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, organizational policies, and project-specific timelines while fostering strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

The ideal candidate must perform in a fast-paced environment, prioritize effectively, identify issues early, and adapt quickly to organizational changes. All duties should align with QLHC's mission, vision, and values.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Contract Management: Draft, review, negotiate clinical trial agreements (CTAs), NDAs, MSAs, and other legal documents; maintain contract database; ensure compliance and proper documentation.
  • Negotiations: Coordinate schedules, ensure agreements meet legal and financial standards, lead approval processes, and develop draft documents with external partners.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure contracts adhere to laws, policies, and standards; identify and mitigate risks; manage disputes and performance issues.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with clinical operations, legal, finance, and project teams; manage communication workflows; develop best practices and process improvements.
  • Training and Mentorship: Provide guidance to junior staff and deliver training on contract management tools and methods.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors or graduate degree in Business Administration, Business Law, or related field; certifications like Certified Commercial Contracts Manager are a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in contract management, especially in clinical trials or pharmaceuticals.
  • Proven negotiation skills and experience managing clinical trial agreements.
