Job Description
The Curriculum Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the management of the program and curriculum. Additionally, the Coordinator may be responsible for over all smooth running of the facility including opening and closing the center.
*All candidates, must meet the following criteria: •A Bachelor's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Development and management experience in a licensed childcare center or preschool. The Curriculum Coordinator must understand the responsibilities and be willing to implement curriculum, train staff according with that guidelines if/when the Center Director is out. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher), Ability to give and take directions and multi-task and the ability to prioritize and complete tasks in a timely fashion. The childcare curriculum director responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:MUST HAVE KNOWLEDGE OF GROW NJ CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENT
• Maintain accurate record-keeping, both state and center requirements (eg, children's files, faculty files)
• Conduct monthly classroom observations
• Plan professional development programs
• Actively participate in professional organizations, conferences and lectures
Program/Curriculum Development
• Conduct classroom ratio checks
• Implement monthly themes
• Implement a year-round calendar
• Plan and implement procedures for maintaining accurate classroom records
• Provide faculty assistance with lesson plan preparation and theme development
• Review lesson plan weekly
• Review Daily Activity Reports periodically
• Review children's portfolios regularly
• Plan and implement visitors/activities
• Implement our transition system
• Conduct playground safety checks
• Welcome all visitors to the School
• Answer the telephone professionally and courteous
• Set up tours accordingly
• Follow through with all prospective customers
• Enroll new families when necessary
• Develop and maintain customer relations
• Implement an orientation program for new families
• Menu, Calendar, school newsletter
• Conduct meetings with parent(s)/legal guardian(s) when necessary
• Develop and maintain community relations
• Be flexible with scheduling
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
