Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and results-driven leader to spearhead our global payroll operations strategy, ensuring alignment with the companys overall objectives. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in global payroll implementation, strategic leadership, and operational excellence. This role is instrumental in transforming our payroll function into a world-class operation, driving innovation, and fostering talent development across multiple regions.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities:

Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead and manage a global payroll team to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing across 15+ countries spanning EMEA, APAC, and LATAM regions.
  • Drive initiatives to optimize payroll processes through automation, robust controls, and enhanced compliance driving operational efficiency and elevating the overall employee experience.
  • Serve as the payroll lead for all M&A activities, including due diligence, transition planning, and post-acquisition integration.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and implementation of payroll systems across multiple geographies, ensuring compliance with local regulations and seamless integration with HR and finance systems.
  • Execute on the long-term payroll strategy that aligns with business objectives and operational goals.
  • Manage team performance, delegate responsibilities effectively, and hold direct reports accountable for their contributions.

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee the full payroll lifecycle for international locations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Uphold payroll security, privacy, and compliance with global regulations, including GDPR and country-specific policies.
  • Track KPIs and SLAs to measure service quality, identify areas for improvement, and drive accountability.

Process Optimization & Technology

  • Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously enhance payroll operations.
  • Lead automation and efficiency initiatives to streamline payroll workflows and improve scalability.
  • Set rigorous standards for ongoing training, documentation, and process consistency.
  • Support the annual payroll department budgeting process and track key financial outcomes.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  • Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders across different regions, ensuring seamless payroll integration with HR and finance functions.
  • Partner with technology teams to evaluate vendor performance, ensuring service quality and adherence to SLAs.
  • Communicate payroll strategies, updates, and changes with clarity and precision to leadership teams and external partners.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of leadership experience in global payroll operations.
  • Bachelors degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven success in implementing and managing large-scale global payroll systems.
  • Strong technical expertise in payroll platforms such as Workday, ADP GlobalView, WFM, UKG, or similar systems.
  • Deep knowledge of global payroll processes, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate, inspire, and manage high-performing teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
