Description: Director of Finance & Operations About the Role: Our client, an early-stage fintech startup partnered with a nonprofit affiliate, is seeking a versatile finance and operations leader to build and scale the financial, HR, and compliance functions across both organizations. This role is highly strategic but hands-on, ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced, early-stage environments and can balance innovation with operational excellence. The company is committed to ensuring its operations maintain integrity, compliance, and measurable impact. Key Responsibilities: Lead financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and audits. Manage accounting operations, payroll, cash flow, and vendor relationships. Ensure compliance with tax, labor, and nonprofit regulations. Design and implement HR policies, benefits, and talent management processes. Oversee grants management, donor reporting, and funding compliance. Collaborate with leadership on operational strategy, risk management, and organizational scaling. Optimize systems and processes to support rapid growth and organizational efficiency. Qualifications: Degree in finance, accounting, or business (CPA, MBA, or HR certification a plus). 10+ years’ experience in finance/operations leadership, ideally spanning both startup and nonprofit environments. Expertise with accounting, payroll, HR systems, and financial compliance. Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills. Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, high-growth fintech environment.
