EMPLOYEE HEALTH NURSE
We are seeking a Employee Health Nurse , s ometimes referred to as an Occupation Health Nurse or Employee Health Registered Nurse . As an Employee Health Nurse, you made hold the title of Registered Nurse (RN). An Employee Health Nurse in our hospital focuses on the hospital’s employees instead of patients. Employee Health Nurses help keep the workforce safe, healthy, cleared for duty, and compliant with all hospital/regulatory requirements.

Hours : 8 hr options – 8:00am to 5:00pm

Knapp Medical Center is an award-winning, not-for-profit hospital in Weslaco, Texas. With 227 beds, the community hospital specializes in emergency care, orthopedics, obstetrics and gynecology, wound care, surgery, cardiology, gastroenterology, critical care, and interventional radiology. Knapp serves as the only acute care hospital in the Mid-Valley area, as well as Weslaco's only Level III Trauma Center, Advanced Primary Stroke Center, and Level II Newborn Nursery. Responsibilities
The Employee Health Nurse coordinates employee annual physical examinations, new hire physical clearances, and worker's compensation issues as requested by Human Resources. Provides emergency evaluation for work related injuries, assures cost effective coordination of treatment, referral to preferred providers, and collaborates with management in development of objectives for employee health services compatible with goals and objectives of the hospital. Documents accurately and helps to maintain required confidential employee and administrative records. Performs safety rounds safety practices are adhered to within all hospital departments in order to maintain a safe environment for patients, physicians, volunteers, visitors and hospital employees.
Qualifications
Education and Work Experience
Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA).
Minimum three (3) years of experience in acute care nursing required.
Previous experience in employee health, infection control or occupational health strongly preferred.
