Full Time Opportunity

This postion pays between $100K- 125K per year with a 5-8% annual bonus

This is 5 days per week onsite opportunity in San Jose, CA.

Our client, a well-established 100-year-old family-run company based in San Jose, is seeking an Environmental/Safety Officer . The company has built a strong reputation in the asphalt and construction materials industry and is looking for a professional to join their team and ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain company policies in accordance with local, state, and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Prepare, maintain, and update environmental, health, and safety policy and procedure manuals.
  • Conduct regular environmental and safety inspections.
  • Lead employee training sessions and oversee the documentation and disposal of hazardous waste.
  • Prepare reports and permit applications as required.
  • Ensure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety regulations while staying up to date with changes in laws and regulations.
  • Serve as the initial contact with federal, state, and local regulatory bodies.
  • Direct and participate in accident/incident investigations.
  • Provide oversight of hazardous waste disposal.
  • Coordinate with management on environmental and safety compliance programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in environmental/safety within the construction industry .
  • Working knowledge of environmental and safety concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Ability to follow established guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations governing environmental and occupational health and safety compliance, emergency response procedures, and reporting requirements.
