Flooring Estimator needed for Luxury Store located in Palm Beach County, Florida. Our client is growing and would allow you to grow with the organization. Currently seeking an experienced estimator with a strong professional personality and experience to jump right into the role. Salary is based on skills and experience.

Responsible for accurately assessing the material, labor, and time requirements for flooring installation projects. This role involves visiting project sites, reading blueprints, working with suppliers, and providing detailed, competitive bids to secure profitable contracts.

Responsibilities:

• Generate estimates and bids: Develop accurate and timely cost estimates for a variety of flooring projects, including material and labor costs.
• Perform take-offs: Use blueprints, architectural drawings, or on-site measurements to perform material quantity take-offs for flooring types such as carpet, hardwood, vinyl, and tile.
• Read and interpret documents: Understand project specifications, bid documents, and architectural plans to ensure a complete and accurate understanding of the project scope.
• Source and negotiate materials: Research and coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain current pricing for materials and services to ensure competitive bids.
• Conduct site visits: Travel to job sites to take precise measurements, assess existing conditions, and identify potential issues that may impact the project budget or timeline.
• Communicate with clients: Clearly explain estimates and material options to customers, answer questions, and assist them in making informed decisions.
• Manage project information: Create and maintain comprehensive project files, ensuring all bid documents, estimates, and correspondence are well-organized.
• Collaborate with teams: Work closely with the sales, design, and installation teams to ensure a smooth transition from estimation to project completion.
• Follow up: Track and follow up on submitted bids and adjust estimates as new information becomes available.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in a construction estimating role, with specific experience in flooring preferred.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Proficiency with estimating softwareand Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents, blueprints, and specifications.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
• A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are often required for site visits.
