The Food Safety and Quality Specialist supports the Quality and Food Safety department by executing key quality and food safety programs along with customer requirements. The primary responsibility of the Food Safety and Quality Specialist is to oversee and carry out test and hold activities following and using internal standard operating procedures. The Food Safety and Quality Specialist will oversee the test and hold program including coordinating with operations, samplers, and laboratories for the successful supervision of the test and hold program. The incumbent will also assist with executing pre-shipment inspection as well as shelf-life evaluations of the product. Finally, the incumbent will also be expected to be a valued contributor in supporting environmental monitoring programs as well as other tasks that might be required to help the FSQA department.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversee the test and hold program for key customers including coordinating with operations and samplers to ensure the execution of staffing to pull samples, collect samples as necessary, coordinate with laboratories for appropriate management of sample submission as well as receiving and interpreting results.
• Execute physical and virtual hold process.
• Conduct customer finish product pre-shipment inspection including the review of quality conditions of the product before shipment to ensure the product meets customer specifications and providing QAFS management recommendations based on inspections.
• Perform shelf-life evaluation of finished product and provide weekly reports or as needed to local and corporate QAFS team
• Coordinate new product testing and generate periodic Quality and Audit reports
• Coordinate and perform environmental monitoring of the site as needed
• Assist the Corporate FSQA department in carrying out FSQA projects as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Ability to handle multiple priorities to achieve results in a dynamic environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software and AS400 operating systems
• Minimum 1-3 years related experience
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Certified HACCP Manager (HACCP Alliance)
