Job Description
We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented graphic designer who is passionate about education to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with curriculum developers and the product team to design visually engaging, educational materials for students in grades TK-5. You will play an essential role in producing high-quality, age-appropriate content that enhances young learners' experiences, ensuring they have access to the best possible curriculum resources.
Key Responsibilities
Design and Illustrate Educational Materials: Create visually engaging student activity sheets, teacher guides, infographics, and other digital resources that support the curriculum.
Collaboration: Work closely with curriculum writers and other team members to design graphics that align with educational goals and enhance the learning experience.
Brand and Accessibility Standards: Ensure all designs adhere to brand guidelines, accessibility standards (including alt text), and the overall educational tone of the curriculum.
Optimization for Various Formats: Adapt graphics for both print and digital formats to ensure compatibility and high-quality delivery.
File Delivery: Provide draft and final design files in InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop formats, as needed for curricular materials.
General Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of graphic design experience, preferably in the education, publishing, or children's media sectors.
Portfolio: Strong portfolio showcasing child-focused designs, including educational or instructional content.
Diversity and Inclusion: Ability to create diverse and inclusive visual representations.
Accessibility: Experience with accessibility standards, including the implementation of alt text and other accessibility features.
Print and Digital Design: Familiarity with designing materials for both print and digital delivery.
Self-Motivation: Ability to work independently and manage assignments with minimal supervision.
Organization and Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Tech Savvy: Strong computer skills with experience using cloud-based systems such as Google Workspace, Slack, and Zoom.
