The SBN Operations team is looking for an Infrastructure Ops Technician to join our expanding Central Infra Ops team. Infrastructure Ops Technicians work with established best practices to refine operational procedures and develop new tooling to support our networks.
If you would like supporting and deploying large scale, enterprise class networks, we’d like to meet you. Your work will deliver the configuration and overall health of our infrastructure services for Amazonians and to assist in the development of innovative ways to automate and scale our infrastructure operations as we expand.
Travel: Extensive travel will be required in 2024, but will be limited in 2025 and beyond
Key job responsibilities
The position’s responsibilities involve installation, configuring, monitoring and resolving of issues with infrastructure hardware, configuration and network connectivity in Amazon corporate offices around the world.
These activities include the following:
- Installation and troubleshooting of infrastructure hardware, software and connectivity
- Ability to travel within geographical work area is required.
- Ability to work in a 24/7 environment
- Communicate with technical and non-technical staff
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
- Display a commitment to quality and strong multi-tasking skills
- Work closely with both internal customers and external vendors to maintain infrastructure health

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- BS in STEM area preferably in Information Systems or Computer Science, may be coupled with certifications to include CCNA, JNCIA + industry experience or 2+ year’s IT systems or relevant experience.
- 2+ years of experience in one or more of the following technical domains: Compute (Server and virtual machines. Wintel/*nix), Networking (Fundamentals - Cisco CCNA or equivalent), Scripting (automation).
- 2+ years of experience as a network engineer and deployments for large-scale networks in a corporate environment with hands on experience with physical infrastructure installations including hardware integration, racking, and cabling
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years’ hands on experience on Cisco routers/switches/firewalls.
- Experience working with data and telecom carriers to procure, deliver, and activate network circuits
- Experience administering, deploying or supporting Aruba wireless network equipment
- Demonstrated track record dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering measurable results in an agile environment
