Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Junior Accountant / Accounting Technician at Greg Cowan CPA Professional Corporation in Kitchener, ON. The role involves preparing corporate year-end financial statements for our clients, reconciling year-end accounts, preparing adjusting journal entries, and preparing corporate tax returns. Ancillary duties for the role include preparing personal tax returns for our firm's business owners and personal tax clientele. The role is paid by the hour, with paid overtime during busy season, which is our policy because we believe our employees should continue to make money whenever they are working for the firm.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, Caseware, Karbon, etc.
• Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word, etc. 
• Knowledge of financial principles and practices
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
• Completion of a College Diploma, Associate's Degree, or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field. We will also consider candidates with partially completed education, if they can demonstrate proficiency/potential of skills and knowledge.
