Job Description

Summary of Position: This position is responsible for providing laboratory registration, preregistration, scheduling, requisition maintenance as well as reference laboratory billing. The position will assist in processing blood, cultures, and urine specimens, label samples, sort and set up batches of specimens, as well as perform send out operations. This position is responsible for the collection of blood samples for laboratory testing in hospital, emergency room, and outpatient settings.

Requirements:

Education, Training & Experience: High School graduate or equivalent. Six months phlebotomy experience or equivalent required. A Bachelors of Science in related field can be considered in lieu of patient care experience.

Certifications / Licensure: Valid New York State driver's license required. Must be at least 23 years of age and approved to drive Saratoga Hospital vehicles for shifts requiring travel for offsite specimen collection. PBT - Certified by ASCP, NHA, or AMT or obtain within 1 year of start date.

Completes a minimum of 6 hours of technical continuing education on an annual basis.

Salary Range: $18.22 - $28.27
Pay Grade: 18
