Job Description

2IM Group is looking to hire a Landscape Architect / Landscape Designer to work full-time at the Illinois Department of Transportation Headquarters in Schaumburg, IL. This position includes a benefits package (health care, vision, dental, health savings account, 401k, paid time off, paid holidays, etc.).

Job Responsibilities:

• Review landscape plans to confirm adherence to all IDOT Standards and Specifications.
• Perform tasks requiring applications of standard Landscape Architecture procedures and techniques, including creating landscape plans and/or exhibits.
• Developing knowledge of IDOT Standards & Specifications.
• Apply local and legal regulations like health and safety protocols on-site while complying with State regulations.
• Developing knowledge of relevant local regulations and legislation.

Job Requirements:

• A minimum of 3 years of professional experience.
• Bachelor's of Landscape Architecture from an accredited Landscape Architecture program.
• Valid Driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Willing to work on roadway projects and be comfortable on roadsides.
• Knowledge of Midwest region’s plant identification.
• Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and design skills (both graphically and verbally).
• Comprehensive understanding of planning and construction projects.
• Experience with construction plan preparation.
• Two years of project experience in the transportation industry is a plus .
• Able to understand construction projects and be familiar with reading construction plans.
• Willingness to be a self-starter and to grow in the position.
