About The Role We are seeking a full-time experienced Legal Nurse Consultant in our Chicago or Pensacola office with at least five (5) years of experience as a legal nurse consultant, knowledge of healthcare law or medical malpractice is a plus. The role involves working alongside attorneys throughout all phases of litigation, from case initiation to trial. The ideal candidate is skilled, diligent, personable, and professional. Responsibilities Review and analyze medical records, bills, physician and nurse notes, charts, pleadings, discovery, deposition transcripts, and insurance documents. Conduct medical research to interpret medical/nursing terminology, diagnoses, and treatments; outline deviations and adherence to Standards of Care. Assess medical evidence, identify strengths, weaknesses, oversights, and discrepancies. Prepare outlines and summaries of medical records for client presentation and trial use. Educate attorneys on medical issues. Assist in preparing demonstrative evidence and trial preparations. Handle authorizations for medical and collateral source records. Collaborate with expert witnesses and assist in trial preparations. Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required. Critical care experience preferred. Experience in medical malpractice defense litigation desirable. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Excellent writing, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Proficiency in Outlook, MS Word, and Excel; TrialPad experience is a plus. Attention to detail and accuracy.
