Job Description
Position Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and empathetic Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join our behavioral health team. The LMHC will provide therapeutic services to individuals, couples, families, and groups dealing with a variety of emotional, psychological, and behavioral issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and create individualized treatment plans
- Provide evidence-based therapy to clients facing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, substance abuse, and more
- Facilitate individual, group, couples, and family therapy sessions
- Monitor client progress and revise treatment plans as necessary
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with HIPAA and ethical standards
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals
- Participate in staff meetings, case consultations, and ongoing professional development
- Provide crisis intervention as needed
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field
- Active LMHC license in the State of residence
- Minimum of 2 years post-licensure clinical experience preferred
- Strong therapeutic, diagnostic, and clinical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Familiarity with EMR systems and telehealth platforms
Work Environment:
- Office or virtual setting depending on service delivery
- May require evening and weekend availability
- Requires emotional resilience and ability to manage high-stress situations
- Low physical demand but high cognitive and emotional involvement
- Confidential and quiet environment needed for therapy sessions
