MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: \n - B.S. Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related technical field
\n - 0 to 2 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing or production setting

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Coursework or training in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma

ABOUT THE JOB! The Manufacturing Engineer supports the development, improvement, and documentation of manufacturing processes within the Situational and Awareness Value Stream. This role applies technical skills to optimize and develop production processes, while also providing hands-on technical support and troubleshooting to manufacturing operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES: \n - Participate in documenting and refining manufacturing processes to support production efficiency and quality standards.
\n - Develop and enhance production tooling and equipment. Both custom-built and off-the-shelf solutions.
\n - Propose and provide input on new equipment design, development and procurement.
\n - Contribute to the development and maintenance of work instructions, routers, and process documentation.
\n - Support continuous improvement efforts using Lean principles with appropriate guidance.
\n - Collaborate with the production, engineering, and quality teams to troubleshoot basic problems in manufacturing operations and implement solutions.
\n - Stay current with industry best practices, technology, and actively pursue opportunities for technical and professional growth.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: \n - Understanding of basic electro-mechanical systems; experience with projects in automation, electrical, or mechanical engineering disciplines is preferred.
\n - Proficiency in parametric CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) and familiarity with Product Data Management (PDM) systems.
\n - Ability to apply data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Minitab) to drive and verify process improvements.
\n - Proficiency in engineering software tools such as MATLAB, LTspice, and Studio 5000/Connected Components Workbench (CCW) is a plus.
\n - Exposure to ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
\n - Familiarity with basic quality standards, manufacturing documentation, and quality assurance protocols, including IQ, OQ, and PQ.
\n - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
\n - Clear written and verbal communication skills; able to perform well in a team-oriented environment.
