Job Title: Licensed Massage Therapist

Location: Brain and Body Recess – Seattle, Washington

Job Type: Licensed Massage Therapist

• Full-Time (W-2): 30 hours/week
• Part-Time (Contractor): Flexible schedule
• Compensation:
• W-2 Therapist: $50-60 per session plus tips, paid time off, CE stipend
• Commission-Based Part-Time Therapist: commission + tips

We provide restorative, whole-person approach bodywork and integrative wellness experiences that restore nervous system balance and reclaim generational wellbeing. We are building a team of massage therapists, chiropractors and integrative specialists who are skilled practitioners and heart-centered collaborators.

Position Summary:

As a Massage Therapist at Brain and Body Recess, you will provide compassionate, high-quality massage therapy services to clients from diverse backgrounds. You will also contribute to a supportive, team-oriented environment that centers on safety, consent, and holistic health.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver client-centered massage therapy sessions (60–90 minutes), tailored to individual needs and goals
• Maintain accurate client records and adhere to SOAP charting standards
• Educate clients on body awareness, stress reduction, and wellness practices
• Adhere to hygiene, COVID, and state licensing regulations
• Collaborate with our interdisciplinary team of wellness providers, including chiropractors, estheticians, and movement educators
• Participate in staff trainings, retreats, and community events when applicable
• Model emotional integrity, cultural humility, and professionalism at all times

Preferred Qualifications:

• Washington State Massage Therapy License (required)
• Minimum 1–2 years of hands-on experience (new grads considered with strong mentorship potential)
• Knowledge of or interest in whole-body care, neuromuscular therapy, sports massage, Thai massage, subtle practices, somatics, and/or prenatal massage
• Availability to work at least two weekends per month or as needed
• Ability to build rapport with clients
• Strong communication, boundaries, and time management skills
