Co-Op Program Overview

HULK USA is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented engineering student to participate in our year-long co-op program, designed to provide an immersive and structured learning experience. This paid program spans one summer term and two additional semesters (fall and/or spring) of the student’s choice, allowing for extended hands-on experience in real-world engineering applications. Co-op students will work under the guidance of experienced engineers, actively contributing to key aspects of product design, testing, and development while gaining valuable industry exposure.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Assist in the design, development, and optimization of mechanical components for downhole applications.
  • Build and refine test fixtures for gas flow, pressure testing, and material durability analysis.
  • Develop detailed test layouts, schematics, and fixture designs to support product validation and troubleshooting.
  • Utilize SolidWorks CAD software to create complex 3D models and technical drawings for manufacturing.
  • Conduct in-depth data collection, statistical analysis, and performance evaluations to drive engineering decisions.
  • Participate in field testing, interacting with industry professionals to apply theoretical knowledge in practical scenarios.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support research and development, ensuring product reliability and innovation.
  • Gain exposure to advanced engineering techniques, material science applications, and oilfield technology solutions.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related STEM field.
  • Junior standing or higher.
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Completion of the following coursework:
  • Statics / Engineering Mechanics
  • Basic CAD experience (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Strong technical aptitude with an ability to apply engineering principles in real-world scenarios.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, resourcefulness, and adaptability.
  • Effective communication skills to present findings and collaborate with team members.

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

  • Prior internship, co-op, or research experience in an engineering or technical environment.
  • Additional coursework in Fluid Mechanics, Mechanical Design, or Materials Science.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks or other 3D CAD software.
  • Familiarity with testing methodologies, data acquisition tools, and performance validation techniques.
  • Passion for oilfield technology, product development, and real-world engineering challenges.
