*This is a part-time only position. 28 Hours a week are required. Must be able to complete, at minimum, 3 days a week and 1 half day.
*This may be remote depending on experience.
*This is a contract position.

Medication Assisted Treatment Clinic is recruiting a licensed Nurse Practitioner in Maryland who possesses a deep understanding of our agency's mission and culture.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Maryland.
  • Active DEA registration certificate without restrictions.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Solid understanding of medication-assisted treatment, and adherence to applicable state, federal, and CARF standards.
  • Familiarity with health care issues related to drug and alcohol abuse.
  • Knowledge of advanced nursing practice issues and standards, record-keeping requirements, and regulations for licensing, approval, and credentialing.
  • Understanding of physical and mental health issues of the subculture we serve.
  • Ability to assess and develop educational programs for clients and staff.
  • Experience in behavioral health or substance abuse treatment is highly preferred.
  • No history of alcohol or drug misuse for a period of three years before employment.
  • Board certification or eligibility for board certification.
  • Additional specific DEA credentials may be required as per state and clinic regulations or policies.
  • Familiarity with CARF statutes and guidelines.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Responsibilities:

  • Diagnosing and treating substance use disorders in individuals with co-occurring psychiatric disorders.
  • Managing withdrawal in patients with alcohol, sedative, and opioid use disorders.
  • Providing Medication-Assisted Treatment when needed, using evidence-based medicines such as Vivitrol (injectable naltrexone), buprenorphine, and Subclade (injectable buprenorphine).
  • Contributing psychiatric medical expertise in assessing and treating mental disorders.
  • Educating patients, customers, peers, and other staff on substance use and mental health issues.
  • Meeting organizational staffing and productivity requirements.
  • Actively participating in the development of a nurse practitioner services team and promoting the involvement of psychiatric services in multidisciplinary care delivery.
  • Planning and organizing medical and clinical practices and providing direct patient care.
  • Overseeing the delivery of medical services within the clinic for quality and efficiency.
  • Supervising dispensing and nursing station.
  • Providing guidance to other professional medical staff, administrative staff, and support staff, as designated.
  • Serving in a teaching role for the training and development of other personnel.
  • Engaging in direct interaction and weekly meetings with the nursing and medical team is required.
Employment will be contingent upon a clear UDS and criminal history record.
