This will be a 100% field position with their office being at home. They will be on-site overseeing our fiber optic installation crews. The job will start at the Florida border and go to the South Carolina border along Rt 95.

Our Digital Infrastructure Group has been at the forefront of creating a new generation of communications infrastructure for over 40 years. We specialize in everything from network development to complete telecom life cycle solutions. While the communications world is ever changing, the demand for innovative technology and long-term support services remains constant. These services include site acquisition, design, and construction, to full operations, maintenance, and deconstruction. This position will be responsible for the quality of client service, utilization of staff, marketing, office reputation, contract management, billing collection, and project profitability for telecommunications engineering projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for field activities associated with the project, including supervision of all field construction work by subcontractors / trades and self-performed work
  • Manage Subcontractors and self-perform work to ensure timely work to keep project on time / within budget and quality
  • Tracks equipment purchased is on site at the project when needed
  • Shares responsibility with the construction project manager for developing and keeping to the project budget, actively participating in the preconstruction phase, and ensuring that the project is built on time, within budget, and according to company policies and procedures
  • Provides leadership of all field related work activities and coordinates with Project Manager, Construction Project Manager and Subcontractors and internal crews
  • Serve as primary point of contact in the field for project’s progress
  • Ensures that project site and Amentum and customer assets are secure and maintains a safe and respectful working environment at all times by implementing programs for safety / OSHA, Equal Employment Opportunity / EEO, risk management, training, and quality control
  • Coordinates with project manager for approval on out of scope changes
  • Facilitates weekly project progress and safety meetings with all subcontractor representatives and coordinates the upcoming week’s work to be accomplished
  • Attends progress meetings with the owner’s representative / construction Project manager
  • Ensures that the project closeout process is finalized, demobilize all resources, and transition the project to the client


Qualifications:

  • The successful candidate must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States without visa sponsorship required
  • 5-10 years field supervision experience required
  • Experience managing Fiber Construction Projects with Budgets between $1M to $20M
  • Client Facing / Client relationship / Client Management skills
  • Must be familiar with the construction process of outside plant (OSP) projects.
  • Demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills is required
  • Engineering or Technical degree preferred
