Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A nursing opportunity is available for skilled RNs with stepdown experience in the Irvine, CA area. This contract position is ideal for nurses proficient in managing tracheostomies and ventilators, ensuring high-quality care in an acute care setting. Candidates must demonstrate efficiency in critical respiratory interventions and be prepared to provide reliable weekend coverage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive stepdown care to patients requiring close monitoring and respiratory support.
  • Manage tracheostomy tubes and ventilator settings accurately and safely.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Monitor patient progress and respond effectively to clinical changes.
  • Maintain compliance with all facility policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Current, valid RN license.
  • Proven experience with tracheostomies and ventilator management.
  • Certification in BLS and ACLS; PALS and NRP as applicable.
  • Ability to work weekends and preference given to candidates available for a full schedule through late January and early February.
  • Completion of all compliance requirements, including license verification, vaccination records (MMR, Varicella), negative TB test, drug and background screening.

Additional Details:

  • Contract position starting mid-January.
