Job Description

Photography and Product Specialist

Location: South Oklahoma City, OK (On-Site, Full-Time)

Skulls Unlimited International, Inc. , founded in 1986, is the world’s leading supplier of ethically sourced osteological specimens. We provide legally and ethically obtained real and replica skulls & skeletons to educational, medical, and research communities worldwide. Our unique, family-run business began as a passion project and has grown into a global enterprise over the past four decades—complete with an on-site Museum of Osteology in south Oklahoma City that showcases hundreds of skeletons for the public. (Yes, we even starred on Discovery Channel’s Dirty Jobs for our fascinating work!) Despite our scientific focus, we maintain a fun, family-oriented, and hands-on culture. We take our mission seriously, but we love what we do—and we do it together in a collaborative, down-to-earth environment.

Job Summary

We’re seeking a Photography and Product Specialist to join our creative and e-commerce team at Skulls Unlimited’s headquarters in South Oklahoma City. This position is ideal for someone with a strong eye for detail, a passion for photography, and the technical expertise to capture, edit, and organize high-quality product images of osteological specimens—including real and replica skulls and skeletons —for use across our website, catalogs, and marketing materials.

The Product Specialist will manage all aspects of product imagery and listings, ensuring every specimen is represented accurately and beautifully. This is a hands-on, full-time position that blends creativity, precision, and a touch of science.

We are currently accepting applications and will begin reviewing them on November 24th .

Key Responsibilities:

Photography & Editing

  • Capture professional images of osteological specimens (real and replica skulls and skeletons) using studio equipment, lighting, and camera systems.
  • Edit, retouch, and color-correct photos for use on the website, catalogs, and marketing materials.
  • Organize, rename, and resize image files for internal storage and web use.
  • Set up and execute both studio and lifestyle photo shoots—indoors and outdoors—aligned with brand and scientific standards.
  • Maintain consistent quality, accuracy, and attention to anatomical detail across all images.

Product Listings & Content Management

  • Create and publish product listings with accurate pricing, descriptions, and key details.
  • Track product weights, dimensions, and inventory data for online listings.
  • Monitor and update listings to ensure accuracy and optimize presentation.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for product information across e-commerce platforms.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with the marketing team on creative and educational projects.
  • Partner with customer service to ensure listings and product information enhance the customer experience.
  • Communicate progress and challenges to management and collaborate to improve workflows and efficiency.

General Support

  • Assist with receiving, grading, and shelving inventory.
  • Provide light administrative support such as answering phones and online customer chat.
  • Maintain a clean and organized studio and workspace.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience: 2+ years of professional photography experience (product photography preferred).
  • Education: BFA in Photography or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, Photoroom, and studio lighting.
  • Hardware Knowledge: Familiarity with Mac operating systems and removable lens cameras.
  • Personal Attributes: Strong attention to detail, creative problem-solving, and a highly organized approach.
  • Ability to work independently, take direction, and manage multiple projects at once.

Work Environment:

Schedule & Location: Full-time, in-person position at our South OKC headquarters, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with occasional flexibility as business needs arise.

Physical Setting: Combination of studio, warehouse, and office work. Must be comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs and working around biological and replica specimens (all handled safely and ethically).

Team Atmosphere: Expect a close-knit, family-style environment where creativity, curiosity, and bone puns are part of everyday life. Our work is hands-on, educational, and a little quirky—just the way we like it.

Why Join Skulls Unlimited?

  • Work in one of the world’s most unique industries, blending art, science, and education.
  • Collaborate with a supportive, tight-knit team that values creativity and craftsmanship.
  • Enjoy a culture that celebrates curiosity and hands-on learning every day.
