Job Summary

We are seeking dedicated Tutors to join our team and support the academic growth of K-5 students. Tutors will work collaboratively in small group settings to enhance students' phonics, reading comprehension, and writing skills. Following each session, Tutors will meticulously document student progress and observations.

To qualify, candidates must possess a minimum of one year of professional experience working with school-aged children and have completed 60+ credits at an accredited university. Comprehensive training will be provided.

Positions available in Union and Essex County. Hours will be scheduled within the regular school day and the position will begin in October, 2024.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Conduct small group tutoring sessions.
• Implement effective teaching strategies.
• Monitor student progress.
• Maintain detailed session documentation.
• Collaborate with team members.
• Assign and review homework with students.
• Build positive relationships with students.
• Communicate effectively with parents/guardians

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum of 60 college credits from an accredited university.
• At least one year of professional experience working with school-aged children.
• Strong understanding of phonics, reading comprehension, and writing fundamentals at the elementary level.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities to explain complex concepts clearly and effectively.
• Ability to create a positive and supportive learning environment while maintaining patience with students.
• Strong time management and organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks and student records efficiently.
• Flexibility to adjust teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and share best practices.
