Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1+ years School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A full-time Social Worker position is available for the upcoming school year, providing support to K-12 students in a school setting. This role is ideal for a professional dedicated to fostering the social and emotional well-being of students through direct intervention and collaboration with families, staff, and community resources.

Location: Lakewood, WA
Work Schedule: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Contract Duration: Full school year
Student Age Range: K-12

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments to identify students social, emotional, and behavioral needs
  • Develop and implement individualized support plans tailored to students' unique challenges
  • Provide counseling services and crisis intervention as needed
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to promote student success and well-being
  • Facilitate group sessions and educational workshops on topics like coping skills, conflict resolution, and mental health awareness
  • Maintain accurate records and case notes in accordance with school policies and regulations

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Masters degree in Social Work or related field with appropriate licensure to practice
  • Experience working with K-12 students in a school-based setting preferred
  • Strong knowledge of community resources and social service systems applicable to children and families
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, families, and educators
  • Ability to manage caseloads efficiently and prioritize tasks in a dynamic school environment
