Job Description

The Security Guard (Unarmed) is responsible for security services for securing and patrolling NATIVE HEALTH facilities. Under general supervision, responsible for guarding and monitoring all buildings and properties. Maintain a visible presence in both interior and exterior to prevent theft, acts of vandalism and property destruction. In addition to offices and clinical spaces as well as overseeing traffic through the main entrance of facility, providing information and assistance to patients, and maintaining the safety of employees, members, and location. This position must demonstrate cooperative behavior with supervisors, subordinates, colleagues, clients, and the community at all times.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Patrol premises, includes foot patrolling actively observe and monitor all visitors to the facility, and address any suspicious behavior that could be in violation of NA policies. Document daily walkthroughs on sign in sheets throughout the workday.
  2. Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of patients, visitors, and other persons, in order to maintain security of the entirety of the building.
  3. Circulate among visitors, patrons, or staff to preserve order and protect property, property including doors, windows, stairways, etc.
  4. Answer alarm and investigate disturbances.
  5. Respond quickly to medical emergencies, bomb threats and fire alarm.
  6. Confront trespassers and transients, if needed request them to leave property. Document all incidents on appropriate forms (Unusual Occurrence) and submit them to supervisor.
  7. Assist individuals with satisfied customer service by providing information and directing communication.
  8. Escort individuals (patients, staff, clients., etc.) to their personal vehicle if requested.
  9. Assist in emergency preparedness, including serving a role in the evacuation of the NH clinic/offices when necessary. During walkthroughs check site safety equipment including fire extinguishers and other emergency equipment to ensure they are in working order.
  10. Work in tandem with emergency personnel to address all emergency situations. Clear pathways, maintain space, open doors, direct them to site, and provide assistance as needed.
  11. Work in tandem with the Safety Committee to stay up to date on safety and emergency preparedness principles. Assist employees, patients, and clients during an emergency. Maintain order, direct staff and members to safety location and ensure building is evacuated.
  12. Responsible for reporting and addressing any building damage, repair, or maintenance issues throughout the facility. Report any safety concerns immediately to your supervisor.
  13. Member Care: Demonstrate understanding and apply working knowledge of safety policies and ensuring safe practices.
  14. Employee Safety: Safely performs all duties; follows required protective protocols to ensure personal safety as well as the safety of others.
  15. Quality Improvement: Actively participate in internal quality improvement teams and work with members proactively to drive quality improvement initiatives in accordance with the mission and strategic goals of the organization, federal and state laws and regulations, and accreditation standards, when assigned.
  16. HIPAA: Keep all protected health information (PHI) confidential and abide by HIPAA policies for the release and disclosure of any PHI. Will report unauthorized use of disclosure of PHI immediately, to supervisor or HIPAA security officer.
  17. Work well under pressure, meet multiple and often competing deadlines.
  18. At all times demonstrate cooperative behavior with supervisors, subordinates, colleagues, clients, and the community.
  19. If illegal dumping is observed, request persons dumping to leave, note the plate number of the vehicle for documentation purpose.
Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Bilingual in Spanish preferred
  2. Must possess a High School Diploma or a GED equivalent
  3. Possession of Security Guard Card or willingness to obtain one within 6 months of hire.
  4. Flexible days and hours, including weekends.
  5. Must pass a criminal background check with a Class I Fingerprint Clearance Card within the initial ninety (90) calendar days of employment or provide upon hire a current clearance card.
  6. Must pass a substance abuse screening testing upon employment and submit to a random testing during employment.
  7. Current valid and unrestricted Arizona driver’s license with no DUI/DWI or reckless driving convictions in the last five years. No more than two at-fault accidents in the last three years. Must maintain a valid AZ driver license during employment. Must be insurable by NATIVE HEALTH liability auto policy.
  8. OSHA training is required annually.
  9. Must be able to provide Tuberculosis (TB) skin test and Physical clearance prior to start date.
  10. Must obtain a CPR and First Aid Card within ninety (90) calendar days of employment and maintain valid cards during employment.
  11. Able to furnish Vaccination history prior to start date dependent on role.
  12. Must be able to follow instructions, have excellent work ethic, and excellent time and attendance standards.
  13. Must be able to work independently.
  14. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. with relative ease.
  15. Must be able to bend, stand, climb stepladder, and reach.
