As a Security Officer - Government Site - Weekdays in San Luis Obispo, CA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government and more .

As a Screener with Allied Universal at a government location, you will play a key role in helping to create a secure environment for all visitors and staff. Your responsibilities will include monitoring entry points, conducting x-ray screenings, and interacting with the public to provide clear communication and exceptional customer service. By remaining visible and attentive, you will help to deter security-related incidents and contribute to a welcoming atmosphere. What You’ll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Greet and screen all individuals entering the location, verifying identification and/or credentials as required by site-specific policies.
• Provide customer service by assisting visitors and responding to inquiries in a professional manner.
• Carry out security-related procedures and follow site-specific protocols to help maintain order within the location.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating issues as appropriate.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and public areas to help to deter unauthorized access and/or prohibited items.
• Communicate and collaborate with Allied Universal team members and on-site personnel to support security-related operations.
• Document and report any unusual activity, incidents, or concerns according to established procedures.

• Availability across various days and shifts
• Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments
• A desire to gain broad experience and grow within the company
• Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
