Position: Senior Architectural Designer (Full-Time)

Who We Are Looking For: As our design/drafting department continues to expand, we are searching for an experienced architectural designer with 5-7 years in the field. We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about problem-solving and understands how to translate clients’ needs into innovative designs. Priority will be given to candidates with a deep technical understanding of Ontario building practices and standards. The ideal candidate will thrive both independently and within a collaborative environment, possess a strong eye for design, and have a deep understanding of the construction process. Position Details:

  • Job Type: Full-Time In-Office
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare permit and construction drawings, ensuring they adhere to best practices and local regulations.
  • Develop conceptual designs using Revit and Enscape to provide clients with a clear project overview.
  • Ensure all designs meet the requirements of codes, by-laws, and governing authorities.
  • Collaborate throughout the design process to ensure alignment with client goals.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Maintain clear and open communication with all project stakeholders.
  • Participate in client design meetings.

 

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Degree in Architectural Construction Technology.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Revit.
  • Solid understanding of the Ontario Building Code, municipal by-laws, and other governing authorities.
  • Experience preparing and submitting drawings for Building Permit Applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Ontario construction methods and practices in residential, agricultural, and commercial projects.
  • 5-7 years of experience in an office, on a job site, or a combination of both.

 

Bonus Skills:

  • BCIN qualified designer (house/small buildings).
  • Experience with timber-frame construction.
  • Previous on-site construction experience.
