A bit about us: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Fund Accountant to join our progressive finance team. As a Senior Fund Accountant, you will be responsible for managing the financial reporting and tax preparation for our diverse portfolio of real estate investments. Job Details Responsibilities:
1. Oversee and manage the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
2. Prepare and review tax returns, ensuring compliance with state, federal, and international tax laws.
3. Coordinate with external auditors for the annual audit process.
4. Perform complex fund accounting activities including reconciliations, expense allocation, capital calls, and distributions.
5. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the real estate industry and stay updated on the latest accounting standards and regulations.
6. Develop and implement effective accounting policies and procedures to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
7. Provide financial analysis and reporting to management on major capital expenditures and investment decisions.
8. Assist in budget preparation and financial planning processes.
9. Train and mentor junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 3 years of experience in fund accounting or related roles, preferably within the real estate industry.
3. CPA certification or equivalent professional qualification is highly desirable.
4. Proficient in tax preparation and knowledgeable about tax laws and regulations.
5. Strong knowledge of GAAP and experience with financial reporting and analysis.
6. Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders.
8. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software.
9. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
10. Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in mentoring junior staff.
