Gibbs & Cox, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos and one of the nation's leading independent Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering and Design firms is hiring a Senior Marine Engineer. This position reports to the Gibbs & Cox Program Manager for the PMS 400D engineering and administrative support contract, with a focus on Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) Systems and Flight Upgrades.For this position we will consider a full time or part time hire. This will also be a hybrid remote position. Individual will be required to work 2-3 days per week onsite at our Washington DC office.Primary ResponsibilitiesProvide technical analysis and expertise on engineering issues. This includes evaluating all systems and sub-systems to be integrated into DDG 51 Class ships with a focus on Flight Upgrade SupportOrganize and lead discussions among peers, government customers, and shipbuilders regarding equipment issuesCommunicating technical principles directly to clientsAssist junior and mid-level engineers with technical research and presentation developmentPrepare technical summaries of meetings for the customerPerform in-depth reviews into requirements and functionality to validate proposed design changes and investigate issuesSupport program reviews and ship trialsBasic QualificationsU.S. Citizenship is requiredMust be able to obtain a security clearanceB.S.
