We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Senior Project Manager, IT in the automotive industry, based in Torrance, CA. This role primarily involves leading project teams, managing vendor suppliers, and delivering strategic and tactical projects. The workplace operates in a hybrid work model, requiring the candidate to be on-site three days per week.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of the Dealer Communication System across multiple business areas.

• Collaborate closely with various departments such as Sales, Parts, Service, Finance, and others to ensure alignment with business unit objectives.

• Provide administrative direction, leadership guidance, and support to team members.

• Handle the project management of a team focused on delivering a high-quality Dealer Communication System that meets current and future business needs.

• Exhibit thought leadership and strong problem-solving capabilities to navigate a highly complex multi-organization ecosystem.

• Maintain a high performing team composed of associate contingent staff members and vendor partners.

• Achieve the unit goals for the Project Delivery of the Dealer Communication System, including schedule, budget, and quality commitments.

• Implement strategies and methodologies to enable robust delivery and operation of complex, large-scale dealer-facing applications in a multi-partner ecosystem.

• Manage vendor suppliers and work closely with enterprise organizations such as Legal and Procurement.

• Develop and deliver proposals, dashboards, and presentations to all levels of business and management.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
• 7-10 years of IT business or product development work experience
• 5-8 years of supervisory experience
• 3-5 years working with business groups and enterprise organizations
• 2-3 years managing outsourced and offsite partners
• Strong customer mindset and professional writing skills
• Strong technical understanding of mobile, web, services-based solutions
• Experience with dealer automotive systems, DCS/DMS projects or other technology projects desirable

Preferred Skills:

• 5-8 years project management experience (Agile and Waterfall)
• 5-8 years technical management experience
• Management-level presentation skills
• Experience delivering high volume transaction applications
• Experience managing a budget (at least $5M)
• Experience leading application development and portfolio support
• Experience with client-server, SaaS, PaaS preferred
• Experience with Liferay platform implementations desirable.
