Job Title: Senior Trucking Dispatcher / Load Planner – 2nd shift (1200-2100)

Salary: $50,000–$70,000 annually, depending on experience

This is not an entry-level dispatch role.

We are only considering candidates with strong, proven experience in dispatching AND load planning local Chicagoland truckload freight in a high-volume, high-pressure operation .

To apply, you must have at least 2+ years of hands-on experience doing all of the following at a high level :

• Load planning and route optimization for multiple local drivers
• Booking freight directly with brokers and customers
• Building and executing daily and weekly dispatch plans
• Managing drop & hook operations
• Dispatching dry van, refrigerated, and intermodal freight
• Coordinating complex schedules across multiple customers with strict SOPs
• Moving a large number of trucks daily in the Chicagoland market

Geneva Transport LLC is a well-established, asset-based local carrier headquartered in Bolingbrook, IL. We run disciplined operations and hold a high bar for execution. Our dispatchers are expected to plan the day, control the freight, and own results —not react to problems after they happen.

Position Overview

This is a senior dispatch + load planning role .

You will be responsible for building the plan, booking the freight, and executing it in real time. You will manage multiple drivers, tight delivery windows, and constant change while keeping trucks productive and customers satisfied.

We need someone who can step in, take ownership, and run the board .

Core Responsibilities

• Build daily and weekly load plans based on capacity, hours, and customer demand
• Book freight with brokers and customers to fully utilize trucks
• Plan efficient routes and minimize deadhead and downtime
• Dispatch drivers and make real-time adjustments as conditions change
• Manage multiple accounts with different SOPs and service requirements
• Proactively identify issues and solve them before they impact service
• Monitor live truck data and ensure on-time performance
• Enforce DOT compliance, HOS planning, and company policies
• Communicate clearly with drivers, customers, and brokers
• Maintain accuracy, urgency, and discipline in a fast-paced environment

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS (NON-NEGOTIABLE)

• 2+ years of recent experience dispatching AND load planning local Chicagoland freight
• Proven ability to book freight and build full daily plans independently
• Deep knowledge of Chicagoland lanes, customers, and traffic patterns
• Strong experience with drop & hook, dry van, reefer, and intermodal freight
• Comfortable managing a high truck count and constant change
• Advanced understanding of DOT regulations and HOS strategy
• Proficiency with TMS and GPS tracking systems
• Calm under pressure, organized, and decisive

• 8.5-hour shifts (30 minute Lunch)
• 2nd shift (1200-2100)
• Rotating weekends
