We are looking for an experienced U.S. service member who is motivated to apply their technical skills to inform business and engineering decisions as a Data Scientist in the Business Data Team.
Unstructured is a rising, cutting-edge technology start-up at the forefront of developing innovative solutions for processing and extracting insights from unstructured data to drive generative artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a results-oriented Skillbridge Intern to contribute significantly to Unstructured’s mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop Predictive Models: Build machine learning models to predict user behavior, identify high-potential customers, and forecast churn.
- Customer Journey Analysis: Perform deep analysis of product usage patterns to uncover insights that drive sales and improve customer retention.
- Competitive Analysis: Evaluate competitors' product performance using advanced analytics and machine learning, comparing results to internal benchmarks.
- Data Management and Transformation: Work with date engineers and data analysts to clean, structure, and manage large datasets to ensure data integrity and readiness for analysis.
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work with Product, Engineering, Sales, and additional teams in Unstructured to understand challenges and identify opportunities where predictive analytics can add value.
- Visualize and Communicate Insights: Effectively communicate complex data-driven insights to stakeholders.
- Advance Automation and Data Pipelines: Implement automation processes to streamline data collection, processing, and reporting workflows.
Required Qualifications:
- Currently on United States active duty and eligible for DoD SkillBridge as an individual intern.
- Chain of command permission to participate in SkillBridge (120-160 days preferred.)
- Possession of a growth mindset and ability to work well among collaborative teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working on technical projects in a team environment.
- Experience within at least two (2) of the following skill areas:
1. Mathematics/Statistics
2. Data Mining, Metadata Analysis or Machine Learning
3. Data Visualization or Data Automation
4. Advanced analytical algorithms
5. Statistical analysis (e.g., variability, sampling error, inference, hypothesis testing, EDA, application of linear models)
6. Data management (e.g., data cleaning and transformation)
7. Data modeling and assessment
