We are looking for a Staff Tax Accountant to join a dynamic team based in Towson, Maryland. The successful candidate will play a critical role in our organization, responsible for preparing and reviewing various tax returns, collaborating with different departments, and staying abreast of changes in tax regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for a variety of entities, including individuals, corporations, and partnerships.

• Assist in the creation of tax provisions and financial statements in compliance with GAAP.

• Conduct research on tax laws to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for tax savings.

• Aid in responding to tax notices and audits by providing the necessary documentation and analysis.

• Keep up-to-date with changes in tax regulations and effectively communicate their implications to clients and internal teams.

• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and tax planning.

• Support senior tax accountants and managers with projects and analysis as needed.

• Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required.

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in tax accounting is necessary. Internship experience counts.

• Proficiency in individual tax preparation and filing is essential.

• Demonstrated experience with partnership and corporate tax is required.

• Knowledge of tax accounting principles and procedures is a must.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.

• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion is a must.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation is preferred.

• Proficiency in using tax preparation software and Microsoft Office Suite is required.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are necessary.

• Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously is required.
