Join Amazon's dynamic environment as a Supply Chain Manager I, where you will play a crucial role in shaping and optimizing various facets of our operations. We have exciting opportunities across different business units, each seeking a skilled professional to lead strategic initiatives and drive process improvements in the supply chain domain. As a Supply Chain Manager with a Procurement Background, you'll take end-to-end ownership of operations focusing on the strategic relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Business, Operations, Supply Chain, Product, Finance, and more, utilize your analytical prowess to identify opportunities for operational improvements, implement scalable systems, and drive automation to enhance efficiency. You will be instrumental in identifying and leading strategic sourcing activities to lower the overall total cost of ownership for Amazon operations. The team is dedicated to ensuring equipment and service availability to meet business owner requirements. We are seeking individuals who can drive sourcing strategies, negotiate with suppliers, and execute contracts. Whether you're managing transportation initiatives, overseeing cross-functional programs, or focusing on strategic projects, your impact will be visible, ongoing, and contribute directly to our commitment to being the most customer-centric company on earth.

Key job responsibilities
- Establish sourcing strategies, negotiate with suppliers, and execute contracts to drive cost savings.
- Drive and manage supplier relationships to enhance collaboration and achieve business goals.
- Manage high spend categories, being accountable for cost savings, with a minimum of $80M in category spend.
- Lead strategic sourcing activities to lower the overall total cost of ownership for Amazon operations.
- Develop and negotiate framework agreements to reduce risk and support local teams in project-specific needs.

A day in the life
As an Supply Chain Manager, your day is filled with a variety of responsibilities that keep the complex global supply chain running smoothly. You start your day by facilitating the flow of information between various stakeholders, including Logistics Service Providers (LSPs), Vendor Managers, Customs, Program Managers, and the broader Supply Chain team.

Resolving any potential issues that could affect lead times and delivery accuracy is a top priority. You leverage your research skills, querying internal tools and making real-time decisions, to provide timely resolutions. Effective communication with stakeholders, whether via phone or email, is essential to ensuring a seamless supply chain.

Throughout the day, you manage and oversee cross-functional programs, applying your creative problem-solving skills to navigate and resolve ambiguities in business scenarios. Fostering collaboration with both internal and external partners is a key part of your role, as you work to optimize resource allocation and ensure the success of these critical initiatives.

Identifying and mitigating risks before they escalate into major issues is another crucial aspect of your responsibilities. You regularly communicate with senior managers and business leaders, providing updates and insights to support key business objectives.

Working within various time constraints to meet critical business needs, you measure and document your activities, demonstrating your ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
