Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for night shifts with an active IL RN license and ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a 6-bed ICU at an acute care hospital with Magnet recognition
• Night shift schedule consists of 3x12-hour shifts (18:45-07:15)
• Every other weekend required
• Nurses may float to Medical Cardiology or Med/Surg units as needed
• Patient ratios are 1:1 to 1:2
• Uses the Epic EMR system
• Self-motivated, autonomous clinician role with Tele-ICU intensivist consult available at times
• Work as part of a small ICU team with autonomy and remote intensivist consult support
• Navy scrubs are required
• No on-call required
• Up to 7 days of requested time off (RTO) allowed per 13-week contract, with no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation
• Holiday coverage may be required per unit scheduling
• Returning employees must have a 1-year break before working as a traveler
• Standard travelers may work up to 18 months before a 3-month break is required

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required (pending license not accepted)
• Minimum of 2 years recent ICU RN experience
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Experience with Epic EMR required
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius from the facility
• First-time travelers are accepted
• No previous permanent employment within the past year at this health system
