James Madison University is regarded as one of the finest regional universities in the nation and is located in the heart of Virginia's beautiful Shenandoah Valley. James Madison University (JMU) is accepting applications on a continual basis for part-time Housekeeping Workers. FM Housekeeping offers flexible scheduling/hours, with various shift options. Part-time staff can work up to 29 hours per week.
Perform regular and special cleaning of assigned areas using manual tools and power equipment such as buffers, vacuums, and auto scrubbers.
Understand and practice all university safety procedures, particularly as they relate to equipment operation and chemical use.
Participate in the university's trash/recycling program.
Required: Experience performing a variety of cleaning tasks.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to clean materials containing bloodborne pathogens and ability to use strong chemicals to clean.
A positive attitude and a desire to work together to keep the facilities of the JMU campus welcoming and beautiful are essential.
Ability to demonstrate basic proficiency in English.
Additional Considerations: Ability to operate buffers, scrubbers, and waxers for cleaning.
